Who We Are

Center for Family Relations is a non-profit organization, founded in 1997, that is dedicated to helping children and parents in divorce situations redefine and restructure their families during this time transition. Through supervised visitation and monitored exchange services, Center for Family Relations provides a safe place for children to maintain a relationship with both parents.

Center for Family Relations provides services for all parents and primary caregivers by offering parent education programs in the workplace and the community. The center serves over 3,200 parents and children each year through the following programs and services:

Kids In Divorced Situations (K.I.D.S. Class)

KIDS Brochure
A four hour seminar which helps parents develop strategies to effectively manage the parent-child relationship. This program serves 65 parents each month (770 per year)

Supervised Visitations and Monitored Exchanges
Services which are designed to ensure that a child can have safe contact with an absent parent without having to be put in the middle of that parent’s conflicts or other problems. In 2007 we conducted 6,000 hours of supervision and over 3,000 exchanges.

Cooperative Parenting
An eight-week group course that teaches parents in high conflict the harmful impacts of their behaviors on the children which helps parents learn child-focused negotiation skills.

Parent Education
An eight-week group course offered at the Center and in various workplaces, which reduce stress in the family and provide essential information regarding child development, nutrition, and discipline. This course serves 295 parents and primary caregivers annually and is a part of the Precious Minds, New Connections (PMNC) initiative of the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation.

As a celebrity waiter last year, I found the experience to be a wonderful way to give back to the community. In my court, we address truancy issues. I covered the event last year as well for the Walker Report and posted some really good photos of all the participants! I expect to do it again. http://www.walkerreport.net
